David Moyes will be assessing his options for strikers in the summer as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is causing the Everton boss some trouble.

Moyes won’t want to be messed about this window and will have the objective of just getting deals done at Everton.

The new regime under The Friedkin Group will hopefully prove that, but the Scotsman is set to encounter obstacles.

Calvert-Lewin is proving to be one of those as with it looking likely he was leaving the club, Calvert-Lewin now wants to stay at Everton.

Well, now another conundrum has popped up with a target who has been on the Toffees’ radar.

Everton handed advantage in Evan Ferguson pursuit

It will be a very interesting window, but Moyes will no doubt be wanting a new frontman.

With Calvert-Lewin’s contract expiring, Moyes will need to make a decision on him, but due to his injury issues, a new contract wouldn’t be wise.

Beto has proven to be inconsistent after such good form at the start of Moyes’ reign, and now the door has opened for the perfect option.

Evan Ferguson, who is an Everton target has spent the rest of the season on loan with West Ham.

It hasn’t gone quite according to plan, and Ferguson, who was once worth £100m, is now struggling.

But maybe Moyes can bring the best out of him again, and according to TEAMtalk, this move could have legs.

West Ham are ‘not expected’ to pursue a permanent deal for Ferguson, and Everton are still closely watching his situation with interest, and with the Hammers dropping out, the chance could be taken by the Toffees.

Everton signing Ferguson is very risky after West Ham spell

It seems like Ferguson will be an option available to many clubs this window.

But with Moyes wanting a striker he can rely on, Ferguson might not fit that criteria.

Especially as Brighton want £45m for Ferguson, it just doesn’t seem like a sustainable option for what Moyes is trying to build.

Adding to this, the 20-year-old has shown no glimpses under Graham Potter during his West Ham loan spell, and his overall campaign in the Premier League has been dire.

Everything is sending red flags to Everton with this Ferguson deal, and Moyes should choose to avoid a permanent deal this summer.
