Everton’s summer business cannot be far from concluded now, given all the signings made in such a short space of time.
It is so refreshing to see them act with such incision and pace, identifying their targets and striking early.
Now, the players should all have ample time to adapt to the Sean Dyche way of playing and training.
What sparked this particular train of thought was yesterday’s double transfer boost, with one a confirmed signing, and another on its way.
Everton agree deal for Jake O’Brien
The latest on Everton’s new transfer conquest comes courtesy of CaughtOffside, with their report emerging just after news broke that the Toffees had reached an agreement to sign Jake O’Brien from Lyon.
Having only moved to the French outfit last summer, the Republic of Ireland international has been a slow-burning star, only recently bursting into the starting lineup to help steer them well clear of the drop.

However, it seems the allure of the Toffees and the Premier League is proving too much for the 23-year-old, who is due to undergo his medical today.
That is old news for the aforementioned report though, who actually outline Everton’s interest in Wilfried Gnonto now.
It reads: ‘Everton consider Gnonto a priority signing and, thanks to the player’s desire to leave Leeds, they remain convinced that they can successfully finalise an agreement with him.’
Wilfried Gnonto to complete Everton’s summer business
Should Everton finalise a deal for O’Brien whilst also snagging Gnonto too, it would cap off a truly mesmeric summer of business and give Dyche all the tools he needs to enjoy a hugely profitable Premier League season.
The 20-year-old, who enjoyed a blistering start to life in England with relegation fodder Leeds United, his two goals and four assists were not enough to save the Elland Road outfit from the drop.

And whilst the Championship was not a place he envisioned staying, he enjoyed a solid recent season there, scoring eight times from 19 starts as Daniel Farke’s men narrowly missed out on play-off glory.
Everton are now set to return to save him from second-tier peril, and his injection of youth, enthusiasm, energy and trickery is set to revolutionise Dyche’s team.
Alongside O’Brien, and the likes of Jesper Lindstrom, Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye and the return of Jack Harrison, this promises to be a team unlike anything Evertonians have seen for years.
