Everton’s injury list is not as bad as it was at the start of the Premier League season but there are still some key and experienced players that could be unavailable for the upcoming Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
Everton injury list
We have already seen exciting Everton signing Jack Harrison available for selection after he suffered a long-term injury at his parent club Leeds. The player was immediately as big hit as he managed one goal and one assist in his first two Premier League matches.

Sadly though, not every player is available for manager Sean Dyche. With Everton battling to make sure they can push away from the Premier League relegation zone and also in the Carabao Cup, it is no doubt massively important that they have everyone available for selection.
Here are the players who are currently injured and their expected return dates.
Dele Alli Injury update

LAST UPDATE: September 15th 2023
Dele Alli is yet to play for Everton this season following groin surgery and he is now in the process of recovering from that surgery. He is training but is only able to do solo work. The attacking midfielder was on loan last season and hasn’t played for the Toffees since 2022. No doubt when he returns he will need some time to get back to the fitness levels required for the Premier League.
Expected Return: 21st October 2023
Idrissa Gana Gueye injury update

LAST UPDATE: October 7th 2023
Idrissa Gueye picked up an injury in the warm-up before the game against Bournemouth at Goodison Park. He had pain in training the week before but looks to have made it worse. The heel injury doesn’t look to be too serious but he is looking to return for the Merseyside derby. He did make the bench for Senegal over the international break and also featured for 10 minutes in the match, so it looks like he should be able
Expected Return: 21st October 2023
Seamus Coleman

LAST UPDATE: October 7th 2023
Seamus Coleman has been injured since last season but he is on the road to recovery and at the final stages of preparation before being fully match fit. He is definitely making progress but the last update was that he is still a little bit away from being available from selection.
Expected Return: 21st October 2023
Andre Gomes

LAST UPDATE: October 7th 2023
Andre Gomes has been out of the team with multiple injuries, but the injuries have all been quite small ones so he shouldn’t be out for a lengthy period of time. For their last game against Bournemouth, it was touch and go as to whether he made the squad. With this in mind he is definitely close to being selected but the Toffees are fearful of risking him at this current time.
Expected Return: 21st October 2023
