Everton are said to be showing an interest in Matt Targett ahead of the summer.
Still with some months to go before the window opens for business, Everton are looking to get a head start on their potential deals.
With defensive additions required, Everton are monitoring Targett’s availability as Middlesbrough look to have blown their automatic promotion hopes.
What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰
The defender is someone who Grealish knows well, with the winger also potentially set to remain on Merseyside.

Everton eyeing Jack Grealish’s friend Matt Targett
Everton are in talks to sign Grealish permanently following his season-long loan deal from Manchester City.
Speaking about his previous comments on Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron, Grealish shared his close connection to Targett.
Vitaliy Mykolenko’s contract expires in the summer, what should Everton do with him? 🤔
Offer him a new deal? Let him go for free? Sell him in January?
“I messaged Matt Targett because I’m close with him from Villa and I said to him, ‘Can you message him for me and say to him that I apologise’,” Grealish previously told TNT Sports.
“I thought the video was private. But even in private I shouldn’t have said it because he’s a fellow professional.”

The 30-year-old landed on Merseyside with close connections to the likes of Jordan Pickford, but it could now be Grealish helping to convince a new signing to Merseyside.
Everton are likely to need a new left-back, with Vitalii Mykolenko wanted by two Bundesliga sides this summer.
Just like Mykolenko, Targett is set to become a free agent, when his deal with Newcastle United concludes.
Perhaps Grealish can put in a good word with the 30-year-old to bring him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
