Everton are looking to beat Liverpool to the singing of £25m Hoffenheim attacker Maximilian Beier, according to reports.

Everton‘s transfer window has been very quiet thus far however, there is a chance they will be active on deadline day.

With multiple gaps in the squad and injuries giving Sean Dyche selection headaches, some reinforcements would be more than welcomed right now.

It seems that the attack is where Everton will strengthen if they are able to, and now it’s been reported they’re in competition with Liverpool to sign a Thomas Muller regen.

So here’s the latest regarding Everton’s race to sign Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim.

Everton want to beat Liverpool to signature of Maximilian Beier

According to Bild in Germany, Everton remains keen on signing Beier this transfer window and it could yet happen before the deadline passes.

The striker is an option for both Merseyside clubs and it’s clear to see why as he enjoys a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old has scored seven and assisted five in just 15 appearances.

Long compared with Roberto Firmino, Everton should be desperate to complete this deal to avoid their city rivals securing another top prospect.

For whoever wants to sign Beier there’s thought to be a £25m price tag, something Everton may struggle to get together right now, which could make this race go on into the summer.

Beier is likened to legendary German Thomas Muller

With Beier being a relatively unheard-of name, it’s good to understand exactly the kind of player Everton are keen on signing.

To help with this, we’ve looked at what German journalist Christian Falk has previously said about Beier and the high praise comparison he’s earned.

“He can play on the flanks as well as centrally, he’s done it already. It’s a little bit like Thomas Muller in the sense that he’s not exactly a winger or central striker; he can also play behind the No.9, so he’s quite a versatile footballer. He’s very, very fast as well,”.

From the sounds of things, Everton are targeting a player with every quality needed to succeed in the Premier League, and if they can beat Liverpool to his signature, it’d be a massive bonus.
