It’s not been easy for Newcastle United this transfer window after Alexander Isak’s saga, and Everton can relate.
The transfer window has brought up many twists and turns, but for Everton, they have just been looking to rebuild the squad.
David Moyes has had the mammoth task of finding the correct players to get the club back on track this season.
It’s no doubt a frustrating process signing players, but what is worse is when players want to exit the club.
This had to be done when Dominic Calvert-Lewin demanded ‘too much money’ from Everton, however, there was a much more toxic ending in 2023.

Everton can relate to Alexander Isak saga after Anthony Gordon forced move to Newcastle United
Evertonians will have the frustrating memory of Anthony Gordon leaving the club in 2023.
The Merseyside-born winger made his feelings very clear after knowing about interest in him elsewhere.
The Daily Mail revealed in January of that year that the then 21-year-old had no intention of returning to his boyhood club as he tried to force a move to Newcastle, similarly to what Isak is now doing with the Toon Army.
In the article, it states that Gordon had ‘infuriated’ fans due to his wishes, and it comes as no surprise after the club gave him everything to reach his ceiling before making the £45 million switch to Eddie Howe’s side.
A sense of betrayal was felt with this deal, as the winger is certainly not in the good books of fans nowadays, and Gordon saying Anfield had the ‘best atmosphere’ didn’t help matters.
So the Toffees will get a sense of what the Magpies are feeling at the moment, and the Newcastle winger showed no regrets.
Anthony Gordon said the choice to leave Everton was a ‘no-brainer’
The controversy that surrounded this transfer was clear, and it seems like a grudge that Blues fans will hold for a while.
But to anger fans even more, Gordon said the Newcastle move was a ‘no-brainer’, claiming he was too ‘ambitious’ to turn down the move.
The Toffees are hoping to find their ambition in Europe under Moyes soon to prove their former winger wrong.
Like Isak, Gordon treated the club with zero respect, and it’s a shame to see players go against the club that made them who they are.
