A round-up of the latest Everton news as Arnaut Danjuma’s agent confirms talks for his transfer to Lyon and 777 Partners finally land a timeline for their Blues takeover.

Arnaut Danjuma’s agent confirms talks for the Everton winger’s transfer

Michael-Moses Jarman, the agent of Everton winger Danjuma, has confirmed he has spoken to Lyon about a transfer in January. But the 26-year-old’s representative notes that Danjuma will honour his season-long loan deal for the Toffees if the Blues opt to retain the Dutchman.

Danjuma moved to Goodison Park in a one-year deal from Villarreal in July. But Sean Dyche’s reluctance to trust the forward has seen Danjuma play just 764 minutes over 17 games. The Lagos, Nigeria native has started in seven of his appearances with two goals and no assists.

So, reports by Foot Mercato recently noted that Lyon are exploring taking Danjuma on loan for the rest of this season. Les Gones would need Everton to terminate their own deal with Villarreal. But the Ligue 1 side can also offer Villarreal an option to buy up to €15m (£13m).

Jarman has now confirmed that he has held talks with Lyon to discuss their interest in a loan deal for if Everton let Danjuma leave. The Dutchman’s agent also claims the most important factor for the winger is his game time. But Danjuma would honour his deal with the Toffees.

“There are conversations afloat, we’ve had interest,” Jarman said on talkSPORT. “Look, he’s happy and settled at Everton. He’s got a contract, so it’s only respectful that that’s the way the conversation stands.

“He’s not getting his minutes at the moment under Mr Dyche, and what’s best for his career is to play football. So, yeah, there’s been interest and conversations ongoing with Lyon. It’s been reported in the media, that’s why I’ll confirm it.”

Everton hijack Sevilla’s interest in Hannibal Mejbri transfer from Manchester United

Everton are hijacking Sevilla’s interest in the loan transfer of Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that the 20-year-old had agreed to join Sevilla. But he has now taken a step back after Everton approached the Tunisia gem.

Hannibal had given Sevilla his ok after rejecting further interest from Lyon and SC Freiburg. But Everton have spoken with the 27-cap midfielder and Manchester United to land a loan deal of their own. It is now up to Hannibal to decide which club he wants to join in January.

The clubs interested in Hannibal’s transfer are keen for Manchester United to agree to add an option to buy, too. While the Old Trafford natives will likely push for a buy-back clause if they agree to any purchase option. Hannibal has played 10 times this season with one goal.

The Premier League is to decide on 777 Partners’ proposed takeover of Everton this January, reports the Liverpool Echo. A decision on the Miami-based group’s status as a fit and proper owner has been looming for weeks. But the league should now declare a verdict this month.

777 Partners hoped to hear if they can become Everton’s new majority owners by buying all of Farhad Moshiri’s shares by Christmas. But the top-flight’s initial 12-week timeframe came and went. Now, 777 Partners are growing in confidence ahead of a likely decision in January.

To further their stance, 777 Partners are still providing Everton with working capital as they await the Premier League’s verdict. But the US capital investment group will not continue to provide the Toffees with funds indefinitely. They are prepared to walk away from their talks.
