A round-up of the latest Everton news as the Toffees now learn of a takeover rival for 777 Partners and Abdoulaye Doucoure is named in a transfer warning for Sean Dyche.
US groups look to rival 777 Partners’ Everton takeover
A host of United States-based consortiums are ready to rival 777 Partners if they cannot seal their takeover of Everton. That is according to the Liverpool Echo, which reports that further groups want to buy Farhad Moshiri’s stake. But 777 Partners remain confident about a deal.
Moshiri has agreed to sell to 777 Partners but their takeover is still yet to receive regulatory approval. The Miami-based group expect a final decision within the next five weeks. But the doubts about their finances continue and are keeping rival suitors interested in the takeover.

Various US investors are unconcerned by the price Moshiri is requesting to sell his majority 94.1% shares in Everton. Some have already held talks about a potential takeover after MSP Sports Capital failed to convince some of the Toffees’ creditors about their proposed buyout.

Mayor gives Everton an exciting Bramley-Moore Dock update
Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, has offered Everton an exciting update on their Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. The Toffees are making rapid progress in the construction of Goodison Park’s replacement. But transport links could prove to be an issue.
Yet Rotheram has told BBC Radio Merseyside (12:30, 08/11) that while it might be a ‘messy’ project, they are looking into a potential tram system. Additionally, it might also be ‘feasible’ to put ferry drop-off and drop-on points along the River Mersey, albeit very expensive to do.

Coleman hands Dyche a timely injury boost at Everton

Everton captain Seamus Coleman has handed boss Dyche a timely injury boost as the right-back steps up his recovery from injury. He has not featured for the Toffees since May when stretchered off in their 2-2 draw away to Leicester City with a medial ligament knee injury.
Dyche has rotated between Nathan Patterson and Ashley Young in Coleman’s absence this season. But neither has proven able to fill the 35-year-old’s void full-time. So, Dyche would have loved seeing Coleman make back-to-back appearances with Everton’s academy team.
The 68-cap Republic of Ireland defender enjoyed a 45-minute start at Manchester United’s Under-21s last Saturday. Coleman has now stepped up his recovery again with 66 minutes as Everton’s U21s edged League Two side Mansfield Town 1-0 in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

Ball hails Doucoure’s new contract in a warning to Everton
Michael Ball believes it was ‘important’ for Everton to tie Abdoulaye Doucoure down with a new contract. The Blues hero fears the Merseyside natives face another ‘difficult’ summer in 2024 given their numerous potential free agents. So, retaining Doucoure will become vital.
Doucoure agreed to new terms keeping him at Goodison Park until 2025 earlier this month. The 30-year-old was otherwise set to be out of contract at the end of the season. But Dyche still faces losing seven players, including Idrissa Gueye and Coleman, at the end of this term.
