Everton could sign a number of former Liverpool players this summer.

The Toffees have already been linked to Harry Wilson as the Wales international prepares to leave Fulham on a free transfer at the end of the season.

David Moyes now has his eyes on another player who graduated from the youth ranks at Anfield in Neco Williams – according to the BBC.

Sunday marks the final home game of the season for Everton! 😳

Everton have been in touch over Neco Williams

BBC Sport now state that Everton have “made discreet enquiries” regarding the Nottingham Forest No.3 – along with Manchester United, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Williams is currently in talks over a new contract at the City Ground after an impressive season, in which he has scored two goals and provided three assists across 35 Premier League appearances.

That is despite the fact his current deal expires in July 2029 – Nottingham Forest are keen to reward his displays with an improved contract, even more so due to the volume of interest from other Premier League sides.

The BBC do not mention any sort of response Everton received from the “discreet” enquiry, but it seems a difficult deal to complete given his importance to Nottingham Forest, as well as the length of time remaining on his current deal.

Nottingham Forest spent £16m to sign the versatile defender from Liverpool back in July 2022, so if a sale were to take place, those at the City Ground would surely demand a sum of at least £35m to sell the 25-year-old.

We doubt a move will materialise, but the approach reinforces the suggestion that Moyes wants a new option at left-back.

A recent story from TEAMtalk stated Everton like Hugo Bueno and could sign the left-back after Wolves were relegated.

Don’t hold back, let us know who you want gone this summer 👋

Vitalii Mykolenko is also yet to sign a new deal with his current terms expiring at the end of the season, so there is some real uncertainty regarding the left-back department at Everton as things stand.
