Everton manager David Moyes is exploring a number of deals with the January transfer window now open.

David Moyes wants to qualify for Europe this season, so he’s keen to bolster his Everton squad and add more quality.

Alan Myers believes the Toffees are in the market for a midfielder, especially since the injury to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Moyes is looking at Watford’s Imran Louza, who is enjoying a sensational season in the Championship, registering 13 goal involvements.

Everton named as potential suitors for Edoardo Bove

According to Italian outlet Il Messaggero, Everton are positioning themselves in the race to sign Edoardo Bove.

Bove is set to leave AS Roma as Italian rules don’t allow players to compete with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator.

The young midfielder had a cardiac arrest on the pitch whilst on loan at Fiorentina last season, so similarly to Christian Eriksen, he will have to depart Serie A to continue his career.

The Toffees have come forward to land his signature, whilst Premier League duo Nottingham Forest and Sunderland are also keeping tabs.

Watford and clubs in Holland are in the race, too, so there is plenty of competition for the 23-year-old Italian.

Jose Mourinho loves Edoardo Bove

Back in 2023, after Roma lost to Sparta Prague, then-manager Jose Mourinho criticised every player apart from Bove.

The Portuguese head coach said: “But today the best player in our team – the only one I really liked because he gave everything technically, tactically and mentally – was a 20-year-old kid who wasn’t even in the first team two years ago.

“We had one player who played with legs, body, and mind – just one. When you have 11 players on the pitch and only one like that, you can’t win. The only player who didn’t deserve to lose was (Edoardo) Bove.”

Bove made just shy of a century of appearances for Roma and was a regular for Italy’s under-21s, so he has plenty of pedigree.

As well as the Roma star, the Toffees have also looked at Kobbie Mainoo, but he looks set to stay at Manchester United following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.
