Everton now look unlikely to sign Wilfried Gnonto once again.
That’s according to journalist Fraser Fletcher, who has reported that the Toffees have already ended talks over a move for the forward.
Everton have been in pursuit of Gnonto all summer and previously had a £25 million bid rejected for the Italian, with their chances of signing him looking slim ahead of deadline day.

The 19-year-old returned to Leeds United’s first-team squad and scored his first goal of the season as the Whites narrowly beat Ipswich Town last time out, while he also featured in their Carabao Cup defeat to Salford City.
However, fans were left on the edge of their seats as it was reported earlier today that Everton had re-entered talks to sign Gnonto before tonight’s deadline.
Calciomercato had claimed that the Merseyside outfit were ‘very close’ to landing Gnonto this afternoon, however it now looks like the move could be off yet again.

Have Everton finally given up on Wilfried Gnonto?
It would have taken a lot for Everton to lure Gnonto away from Yorkshire, with Leeds United previously adamant that they would not be selling their star man.
Ahead of the deadline today, Daniel Farke said: “You can’t give a guarantee but we have survived the last eight weeks, I am pretty sure we will survive the last eight hours.

“In this football business you can never guarantee though. I have to thank our board and I am pleased with this window so far and I am confident we will have a good last eight hours. I am looking forward to having some quieter days.”
It is unclear why the clubs have ended their talks, though it looks like Gnonto may be forced to stay at Leeds United until January at the earliest.
