Everton have very often been trailblazers throughout their illustrious history, as the side often seen taking the lead in key innovative practices.
After all, the club even have a page dedicated to the things which they did first, including being a founding member of the English football league, being the first to go on an overseas football tour, the first to construct a purpose-built football stadium and much, much more.
So, it should come as no surprise that even this campaign, which has been one rife with controversy and adversity, they are still making impressive records.
Under Sean Dyche, the Toffees are transformed, with the 52-year-old tactician having removed their soft underbelly and replaced it with a steely resolve and unwavering work rate.
As such, the squad all seem to fight for one another, and in turn, they are getting the results they deserve.

However, their willingness to remain solid and compact has lent to the special group they are a part of, with X account EFC Statto writing just before the Newcastle United clash: ‘Everton’s record in the Premier League under Sean Dyche after scoring the opening goal – 10 wins, 4 draws, 0 defeats.’
Well, having won that game 3-0, it is a run extended. When delving deeper, only two teams in the Premier League actually have a better record at holding winning positions, with Everton having dropped just four points all season when taking the lead.
Only Manchester United (3 points) and Aston Villa (0 points) better such form.
Will Everton beat Chelsea today?
Whilst it marks a near-impossible job to predict Everton’s results, especially at home, there are glimpses of promise that will have the home support quietly confident of claiming another scalp.
After all, their win over Newcastle United came after Eddie Howe’s men had picked up ten points from the five games running up to the clash, whilst Chelsea have just seven from their last five.

On paper, the Magpies were the more in-form outfit, yet they were brushed aside with relative ease.
What makes today such an interesting clash is that, despite being potent and free-flowing in attack, the visitors remain incredibly fragile at the back. After all, having scored 26 in the league, that is balanced out by the 24 shipped.
Given how solid Dyche has got his Everton side, should they be able to blunt Chelsea’s attack, of which there is every possibility, they could then prey on blunders just as they did with Kieran Trippier.
Unless the Blues remain incredibly focused and faultless throughout, chances should come often for the Toffees, who are seeking to make it nine wins from their last 13 games in all competitions.
Their form is far from that of relegation, and were they to overturn the ten-point deduction which they have appealed, they would actually start the day ahead of their opposition.
