Everton are chasing both a new defender and a new striker.

Progress is being made in the hunt for the latter as Everton launch a bid to sign Youssef En-Nesyri on loan from Fenerbahce, along with a £17m purchase option.

In regards to a defender, the Toffees have enquired about Kevin Boma of Estoril as The Friedkin Group aim to help David Moyes add some depth to his backline.

Now – according to Bola Na Rede in Portugal – Everton could secure his signature for just over £4m.

Everton given encouraging update on Kevin Boma

Everton have money to spend this winter, but a deal for the Togo international could end up costing very little anyway.

What will you think about TFG if Everton don’t address their needs in the winter window? 🤔

The pressure is on The Friedkin Group according to Alan Myers…

The Portuguese news outlet believe Estoril are telling those interested in Boma that his price tag is €5m (£4.3m) – which represents a drop in the ocean for an established Premier League side such as Everton.

Widzew Lodz are also said to be keen on the 23-year-old, but you would expect Everton to be able to fend off a side sitting 15th in the Polish Ekstraklasa.

Boma – who is described as a ‘key player’ for Estoril in the story – is contracted until July 2028, and has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Kevin Boma practically represents a free hit for Everton

With a price tag of just £4.3m and a weekly salary believed to be only £3,001 – according to Capology – this deal could prove to be a total bargain for Everton.

Boma has time on his side to get even better given he is just 23 years of age, and he can already boast ten caps for Togo.

Of course, there is a distinct difference in quality between the Premier League and Portuguese football, so Everton fans cannot expect the Estoril No.44 to arrive on Merseyside and hit the ground running.

What do you make to that Everton fans? 😒

Nevertheless, for the finances involved, this is a gamble worth taking for Everton.

Should it backfire, it would only result in a small financial hit, but should Boma shine, the Toffees could quite quickly see their investment quadruple in price, if not more.
