Everton have been struggling over the past month and a half, and now their biggest problem has been pinpointed.
After Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage, Everton‘s goalscoring woes have become front and centre.
The defence can keep clean sheets all they want but as long as the attack isn’t doing its job, Everton will struggle.
Everton have failed to score in four of their last six games with only a goal being scored in each of the other two which will no doubt be a worry.
But the true extent of how poor finishing has been is now becoming apparent with the Toffees being ranked among the worst in Europe at goalscoring.
In fact, only Barcelona and Bayern Munich are worse than Everton in this decisive area.

Everton’s finishing is a serious problem
Stats Perform Data Editor, Aaron Barton, has revealed the troubling nature of Everton’s issues in front of goal.
He explained that in Europe’s top five leagues this season, Everton has missed the third most big chances (42).
The two teams with higher numbers surprisingly are at the opposite end of the spectrum in their leagues with Barcelona having missed the most (54) and then Bayern Munich (50) taking second place.
This is very worrying, but more worrying is that Everton are the worst in another stat. This is the case with Everton’s xG with the club having the biggest underperformance across the top five leagues (9.85), which has seen them score just 24 goals from an xG of 33.85.
While one way of looking at this is to be concerned, on the other hand, it’s very encouraging as if Everton begin to score they could shoot up the table.
Who are the main culprits in Everton’s poor finishing?
The main culprit with double anyone else this season is Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has missed 12 big chances according to SofaScore.
Below him, Beto has missed eight and loanee Arnaut Danjuma has missed six which showcases the height of the issue.
Lewis Dobbin has also missed one of his own which is forgivable considering how bad his senior teammates have been.
