Everton have the opportunity to end 2023 on a high as they face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday in the Premier League.
Sean Dyche will be hoping to end a three-game losing run on Saturday as he takes his side to Molineux to take on the high-flying Wolves.
Everton couldn’t quite continue the early form they showed this month with a Carabao Cup exit and losses to Spurs and Manchester City being a step too far for Everton.
However, in the grand scheme of things, Everton are enjoying a successful season considering they’ve seen a points deduction slapped onto them this campaign.
Ahead of a trip to the midlands – to face Wolves – Dyche will have his fingers crossed regarding one potential return.

Everton team news vs Wolves
For Everton this weekend there is one player who could return and that is Abdoulaye Doucoure as he faces a late race to be fit according to Sean Dyche.
Speaking during his press conference as relayed by club media, Dyche said: “Doucs is one of those touch-and-go ones: the risk-and-reward scenarios,” he explained.
“He’s a super-fit fella and is desperate to play but we might have to make a judgement call by tomorrow afternoon.”
Aside from the 30-year-old Doucoure, both Idrissa Gueye and Ashley Young will both be missing with this game coming too quick for a return. Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Tarkowski are also confirmed fit to play despite both having knocks this week.
Predicted Everton line-up to face Wolves
Dyche will no doubt field a strong line-up for this tie facing a strong Wolves side who have won two in a row against Chelsea and Brentford.
In goal, Jordan Pickford is a shoo-in given he’s been excellent this season so far and is likely among the first names on Dyche’s team sheet. Even against City, he impressed as he made six saves in that game.
Moving into the defence, the right-back slot should be occupied by Seamus Coleman while on the left Vitaliy Mykolenko is almost guaranteed to be playing here.
In central defence, the strong partnership of Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite will continue and will have their hands full with Hwang Hee-Chan on fire.
In centre-midfield, Andre Gomes keeps his place after impressing against Spurs and Man City lately and next to him will be Amadou Onana as he looks to regain his excellent form after a slightly below-par last three games.
On either wing will be the usual Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison combination with the pair being sublime over the past month, as Harrison picked up praise from Ian Wright and McNeil got compared to a club legend.
Behind the striker in Doucoure’s possible absence, Garner should play this role – where he thrived against Spurs – as he offered excellent defensive work there winning six duels while also completing 93% of his passes according to SofaScore.
Then up-front Beto continues for us as he’s right now a more reliable option than Calvert-Lewin.
