Everton predicted XI vs Man United as Sean Dyche makes big Dominic Calvert-Lewin decision

Everton are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Everton picked up a point against Brentford last time out in a pretty dull encounter, which leaves them in 15th place.

The Toffees are winless in their last four and have failed to score in each of their last three games, so clearly there’s a need to freshen things up in attack.

Everton can sign Evan Ferguson in January as Brighton and Hove have just made the £60m-rated forward available on a loan deal.

But until then, Sean Dyche must find another way of solving his side’s goalscoring woes and with that said, here’s the predicted starting line-up against Man United.

Dyche will be up against it on the weekend as Ruben Amorim takes charge of his first game at Old Trafford.

So, he’s likely to set up in a pragmatic shape, though, he must make a big decision up front as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to misfire.

Calvert-Lewin has netted just two goals in the Premier League so far this season and looks like he needs a spell out of the side

That means Beto could be given the nod to start after impressing in cameo appearances from the subs bench.

Earlier this month, Dyche admitted that Beto is closing the gap on Calvert-Lewin, so he deserves the opportunity.

The only other change could come in midfield, with Orel Mangala replacing Abdoulaye Doucoure. Mangala and Gueye have formed a really strong pairing in recent weeks.

Sean Dyche on thin ice

Whilst it’s evidently not a game Everton are expected to win, it still could be defining for Dyche, who is under major pressure.

The Friedkin Group have a three-man shortlist to replace Dyche, so if he doesn’t pick up points immediately, he may well be sacked.

The Toffees have an incredibly difficult run of games now up until mid-January, so it’s set to be a challenging few weeks on Merseyside.
