Everton look set to be involved in a relegation battle this season.
Sean Dyche’s side are currently languishing in 15th, just one point above the drop zone heading into the festive period.

Everton failed to defeat 10-man Brentford on the weekend and it was a game which magnified their goalscoring woes.
In fact, it marked the third consecutive game in which they have failed to score in, which evinces the need to sign attacking reinforcements in January.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could depart for Juventus whilst Beto is being linked with a move to Torino, so there could be space to bring in a centre-forward.
With that said, it’s become really clear who the Friedkin Group must target this winter. He could change the course of their whole season.

Everton should try to sign Evan Ferguson
Evan Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the best up-and-coming strikers in the Premier League and it wasn’t so long ago he was being linked with the likes of Manchester United.
However, he’s struggled to get in front of Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at Brighton and now he’s set to become available on a loan deal this winter.
That’s according to the Telegraph, who claim Ferguson is desperate to play regularly and the Seagulls will allow him to do that elsewhere.
Brighton still rate the 2004-born highly and if he were to depart on a permanent, it’d take bids of around £60m.
But clearly, there is an opportunity for Everton and clubs in and around them to sign the centre-forward on a six-month loan – which could be a game-changing deal.
The Friedkin Group must act quickly and deliver a convincing pitch to Ferguson. He is already attracting interest from Leicester City and Fulham, according to Balls.ie.

Roberto De Zerbi tips Ferguson to become ‘top scorer in Europe’
Speaking after Ferguson’s hat-trick against Newcastle in September 2023, former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi heaped glowing praise on the forward – claiming he can become one of the best in Europe.
“He can become big, big, big,” De Zerbi told Sky Sports.
“His qualities are enough to become a great player. He can become one of the best, the top scorer in Europe. He was born in 2004, he’s 18. I don’t know how many players are young, that score like him.”
Clearly, just over 12 months on from those comments, Ferguson has been stunted by injuries but many still feel De Zerbi will be proven correct.
There’s still plenty of promise in the young Irishman, he just needs to be awarded regular game time.
Everton should certainly offer him that opportunity.
