Everton season ratings so far as 2/10 flops but 8/10 marks welcome surprise

Everton head into the international break in eighth position in the Premier League, with their next game against Brentford over two weeks away.

It has been a largely positive 2025/26 campaign for Everton, who have surpassed a lot of expectations put on them back in the summer.

David Moyes has propelled his side into European contention, with fifth place just three points adrift.

Give us your gut feeling… will Everton make it into Europe? 🌍

It will not surprise many to see James Garner lead the ratings, but his 2/10 teammate may prove to be the flop of the season.

Ratings have been sorted by the number of minutes played by each Everton player this season.

James Garner – 9.5

Some may even argue that he should be a 10/10, but James Garner has been nothing short of exceptional for Everton this season.

Is James Garner actually better as a full-back or in midfield? 🤔

He's been exceptional just about all season for the Blues!

Garner finally got his England call-up and that speaks volumes as another Everton representative joins Jordan Pickford in the Three Lions camp.

James Tarkowski – 8

James Tarkowski has proven to be incredibly dependable for Everton when it comes to being available for selection.

There may have been the odd moment where he has been at fault, but the centre-back has given Moyes no reason to replace him in the side.

Jordan Pickford – 9

Not far behind Garner as Everton’s best performer… again. Jordan Pickford has wowed pundits with his saves this season and kept his 100th Everton clean sheet at the weekend.

Jake O’Brien – 7.5

It is hard to pile too much criticism on Jake O’Brien for his attacking output, given he is a 6′ 6″ centre-back playing out of position.

Solid defensively, but he must be pining to return to his natural position.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 7

Everton fans know what they’re getting from Vitalii Mykolenko by now. Mykolenko’s contract is expiring this summer, but the Blues do not look in a rush to hand him a new deal.

Offer him a new deal? Let him go for free? Sell him in January?

That could be telling.

Michael Keane – 8

This may divide a few people, but Michael Keane has been a solid replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite this season. The 33-year-old has returned three goals in the Premier League and put in a case for another deal on Merseyside.

Iliman Ndiaye – 8.5

Another dazzling campaign from Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegal international has offered six goals and three assists in the league alone.

The winger has a crucial role to play in Everton’s remaining seven games.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 8.5

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has loved playing at Everton since making the move from Chelsea over the summer.

A fantastic return of six goals and five assists in the league.

Idrissa Gana Gueye – 8

Keeping Idrissa Gana Gueye proved a smart decision by Everton, with the 36-year-old looking as good as he ever has.

Thierno Barry – 5

It has not been an easy first season for Thierno Barry and he has not endeared himself with the fans recently.

Having lost his spot in the starting XI due to a lack of consistency, the Frenchman must improve over the summer.

Jack Grealish – 8

After a really promising start to his Everton loan, Jack Grealish’s return of six assists and two goals was halted through injury.

What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰

Everton will negotiate Grealish’s buy clause with Man City this summer.

Beto – 6.5

Recent form has certainly saved Beto from a really poor rating. The striker has scored five since the turn of the year. However, he only netted once between August and the end of December.

Encouraging signs have been shown for the 28-year-old to build on.

Tim Iroegbunam – 7

There could be an argument made that Tim Iroegbunam has deserved more minutes than he has received this season. The midfielder’s looked bright when given the chance.

Dwight McNeil – 7

No one at Everton would have expected Dwight McNeil to enjoy a career revival in the way he has over recent weeks.

After McNeil’s proposed move to Crystal Palace collapsed, the midfielder has returned to the side and shone.

Charly Alcaraz – 4

Arguably, not many have endured a worse season than Charly Alcaraz at Everton. Having signed permanently over the summer, the Argentine has made just six league starts this season.

Harrison Armstrong – 7.5

After returning from his Preston North End loan, Harrison Armstrong made an immediate impact on Merseyside. The youngster has struggled to land a start over recent weeks, though.

Tyler Dibling – 1

Now this is where things get messy. Tyler Dibling has had a real season to forget after his big-money move over the summer.

Did Everton make a massive mistake in signing Tyler Dibling? 🫣

He's really struggling on Merseyside! ❌

With just 350 minutes of Premier League action under his belt, Moyes wants a big pre-season from Dibling.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 7

Some may feel this is a generous rating, but the centre-back has looked brilliant when he has been on the pitch.

Everton do hold fitness concerns over Branthwaite, which are going to have to be monitored over the remaining weeks.

Merlin Rohl – 5

Merlin Rohl has looked bright at times, but his season has been largely overshadowed through injury issues. He will be expected to be signed permanently this summer, with a big summer ahead of him.

Nathan Patterson – 2

Very hard to see any positives for Nathan Patterson from his 2025/26 campaign. The Scotland international was denied a summer and January move despite Moyes not trusting him to play.

Seamus Coleman – 3

Injuries have ruined Seamus Coleman’s season. Perhaps the positive to be taken is his involvement alongside Moyes during his injury absence.

Tyrique George – 4

A truly bizarre case after Everton signed Tyrique George in January, but have barely used the on-loan winger.

George has looked lively when given the opportunity, but time is running out for him to prove himself.

Adam Aznou – 2

Much like George and Dibling, Adam Aznou has really struggled for game time. Aznou dazzled against Sunderland in the FA Cup, but was subsequently exiled from the squad.
