David Moyes may have to get creative in his team selection this weekend with so many players still unavailable for Everton.
The past five weeks have been nothing short of disastrous for Everton given the number of big-name absences suffered on Merseyside.
Fortunately, Moyes has been able to benefit from a full week without a game ahead of the clash against Aston Villa this weekend.
Bowing out in the FA Cup to Sunderland on Saturday only highlighted the lack of quality in Everton’s depth.
There were next to no positives to take from the game in what was another underwhelming showing from the Blues.
Everton fans were impressed by Adam Aznou following his late substitution into the game and he also caught the eye of James Garner.

James Garner issues clear Everton demand for Adam Aznou
It was hard not to be impressed with Aznou, who came on in the dying minutes and made an immediate impact.
Even Moyes admitted he liked what he saw from Aznou in what was a rare opportunity for the left-back.
Speaking to the Everton website, Garner has now admitted that he would love to see Aznou play more regularly under Moyes.
Aznou surely has to be handed more minutes after THAT display…😫
He showed more in his cameo than Mykolenko has all season
“That’s what we need, that’s what we want,” he said.
“We need people to – when they do get the chance – to take the chance, and I think Adam was very good when he came on.
“So, I’m hoping he can get a few more minutes now and kick on and I’m hoping the rest of the lads can as well because we need them.”
There has even been a suggestion that Everton would green light Aznou’s departure this month to find him more regular minutes out on loan.
However, the word coming out of the club over recent days may well suggest the growing confidence in the Moroccan defender.
Everton cannot loan Adam Aznou out in January
It has been claimed that Everton are still looking to sign a new left-back before the window shuts in a couple of weeks’ time.
Going off what Everton fans saw at the weekend, Aznou looks like a player who is hungry to prove himself on Merseyside.
What would YOU do with Adam Aznou in the summer? 🤷♂️
Whether that will actually translate into more opportunities will have to be seen, with very few actually expecting to see Vitaliy Mykolenko replaced in the starting XI.
Having been dumped out of the FA Cup certainly will not help Aznou’s hopes for more minutes.
Even Lamine Yamal hailed Aznou’s display at the weekend, but he still seemingly has a lot to prove to Moyes.
