One of Everton’s striker targets may have poured cold water on the speculation linking him with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The transfer window is officially open now, and fans want to see Everton getting busy, after a poor end to the 2025/26 season.
Everton finishing 13th after being in such a promising position just weeks prior was very disappointing in the end.
So that makes this a big summer – and several positions are on the agenda.
Everton are looking to bring in a new striker, and there have been a few links so far.
One striker Everton have been keeping tabs on is Mateo Pellegrino of Parma.
However, new footage surfacing of the player tells you all you need to know about where his head is at.
Everton target Mateo Pellegrino absolutely loves life at Parma

A new striker should indeed be high on Everton’s agenda this summer.
But the chances of signing Mateo Pellegrino appear to be very slim based on a new video clip that Parma have uploaded on social media.
The footage shows Pellegrino in the club’s Ernesto Ceresini Museum, and there is a brief moment where he talks about the club’s interest in him before they signed him last summer.
He says: “When Parma’s interest first arose I said ‘I want to go there’. And well since I arrived, everything improved greatly.
“It’s all been brilliant. It’s been getting better and better and it’s been very lovely so far.
“I’m still enjoying it. I love it so much. I’m really enjoying it. So I’m very happy here in Parma.”
The comments will perhaps come as a blow to Everton if they did indeed have plans to act on their interest in the Argentine.
Clearly, he is happy where he is and is not wanting to force a move.
Of course, this is football and anything can happen. Heads can always be turned, and the lure of the Premier League continues to be very strong for players.
Everton could well make an offer, but even if they meet the £26 million asking price, it may be a pointless exercise.
If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰
Pellegrino has had a good time in Italy so far and may wish to stay put a little while longer.
Everton are also linked with another Argentine striker at the moment in the form of Taty Castellanos, and it might make more sense to go for him after West Ham United’s relegation.
Unlike Pellegrino, he has experience of the Premier League and has personally had a good spell with the Hammers after joining in January.
