Work on Everton’s new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is ramping up.

The Toffees’ new home is a shining light in what has been an otherwise depressing season. Everton have struggled to progress in recent years. Hopefully, their new home will provide them with a robust, solid and reliable revenue stream to finally compete in the right part of the league table.

The Bramley-Moore Dock development is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024, with the club set to depart Goodison Park at the end of next season.

After years of looking predominantly like a building site, the Everton Stadium is beginning to look like an elite European stadium. Its location and design are the cornerstones of what could be a unique new home.

Talking exclusively to Everton News, football finance expert Dan Plumley believes the move is the right decision despite the club’s current financial wranglings.

He said: “I stand by the fact that the stadium is the right move for the club in the long run, but there’s no doubt the way it’s been put together, and the ownership challenges with Moshiri and how he’s operated, has caused some of the short term problems.”

What is the latest news at Bramley-Moore Dock?

New updates on the stadium are some of the only positives Evertonians have to cling to at the moment.

And the latest news is certainly exciting.

In the club’s latest project update, it was confirmed that preparatory work on the pitch will begin in May, which is an exciting stage of the project.

Talk of the pitch being laid finally brings the home straight into view. As soon as the grass is laid, it will be like a new era is just around the corner.

What else needs to be sorted?

One big task for the club is to sort out the naming rights for the stadium. Presently, the board are in a consultancy stage, assessing the best options.

Talking to the club’s website, commercial officer Richard Kenyon said: “We are continuing to make good progress in respect of stadium naming rights as we look to secure a suitable partner to benefit from this unique opportunity.

“This has been an extensive and thorough global process, one which is focused on finding the right long-term naming partner for our new home.”

It’s refreshing to see Kenyon take his time regarding naming rights. It could be a lucrative deal, and Everton must benefit correctly.
