Everton are moving at pace this summer transfer window, with a number of deals being worked on behind the scenes.

It’s understood that the Toffees are keen on signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City, with it now apparent he will be leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Villarreal striker Thierno Barry is also on Everton’s radar, and the Friedkin Group are ready to activate his £33m release clause.

Barry is considered one of the most exciting young forwards on the continent, so it’s clear the Friedkins are looking to make statement additions.

With that said, they’re now plotting a move to sign a playmaker who Real Madrid wanted last summer.

Everton eyeing move for Getafe playmaker Christantus Uche

Everton’s lack of goals in recent years has been the main issue plaguing their development, so adding real quality in the forward areas is evidently a priority for David Moyes.

And, according to Estadio Deportivo, the Toffees are now eyeing a move to sign Getafe’s attacking midfielder Christantus Uche.

Uche was involved in 11 goals last term and his impressive form has alerted several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle United, Leeds and Brentford.

The report claims Everton are the latest club to show a serious interest in the 22-year-old, who is believed to have a £21m release clause in his contract.

Uche already has offers on the table, so Moyes and his chiefs will have to move quickly.

Real Madrid wanted Uche last summer

There were reports last summer that suggested Uche turned down a move to Real Madrid in a bid for regular playing time at Getafe.

The 2003-born’s decision has certainly been vindicated, as now he has his pick from several Premier League clubs.

Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested, so if Everton do manage to land his signature, it’d be a real coup.

That’s the market the Friedkins have been shopping in this window, and it bodes really well for the future on Merseyside.
