Everton are already making plans for the summer transfer window.

David Moyes wants to strengthen at left-back, and over the last week, Leicester City’s Victor Kristiansen has been linked to Goodison Park.

The Scotsman is said to be a big admirer of the Denmark international, who joined Leicester in a £17m switch two years ago.

Everton are also keen to add attacking reinforcements, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap high on Moyes’ list of priorities.

Now, it’s just emerged that they’re interested in signing Manchester City playmaker James McAtee.

Everton interested in Man City star James McAtee

Everton are in the market for a creative midfielder this summer and according to GiveMeSport, James McAtee is on their radar.

It’s understood Pep Guardiola is willing to listen to offers for McAtee, with as many as seven Premier League clubs circling his signature.

Man City will only sanction his sale if they receive bids in excess of £25m, which would be feasible for Everton’s cash-rich owners.

The report claims that Guardiola was unimpressed with McAtee during the goalless draw against Southampton on the weekend and has therefore ruthlessly made him available for sale.

The 22-year-old was hauled off at half-time.

McAtee stats 2024/25

In the limited game time he’s had, McAtee’s statistics are actually pretty impressive, as he’s netted seven goals in just nine starts.

Further, according to FBref, McAtee sits in the top one per cent for non-penalty goals per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe.

The 2003-born also ranks in the top one per cent for blocks and top 10 per cent for tackles, amplifying how well he conducts his defensive duties, too.

So, with that said, McAtee would be a fantastic signing for Everton this summer.
