Arnaut Danjuma has shared a message on his social media ahead of Everton’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur today.

Arnaut Danjuma opted to join Spurs on loan over Everton back in the January transfer window, linking up with Antonio Conte in the English capital.

The Dutchman netted on his debut in an FA Cup clash with Preston North End, but went onto make only one start in the Premier League and was limited to only 163 minutes before returning to Villarreal in the summer.

It wasn’t long before Danjuma returned to England though, joining Everton on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old looked promising in the early stages of the campaign and was singled out for his performances, despite the poor results.

However, Everton’s revival over the last few months has meant that Danjuma has struggled to force his way back into the starting line-up. The forward has managed only 27 minutes of action since September.

Despite not making an appearance since the defeat to Manchester United last month, Danjuma has addressed the upcoming clash in London on his social media.

Writing on his X account (formerly Twitter), Danjuma said: “Past and present meets today.” with a shaking hands emoji.

Can Arnaut Danjuma claw his way back into the Everton team?

Arnaut Danjuma’s post was met with a lot of support from Tottenham supporters, with very few Everton fans showing their appreciation.

Spurs fans clearly appreciated the attacker’s quality and understand that there was very little he could do at the club when his minutes were seriously limited.

The Netherlands international finds himself in a similar situation at Goodison Park now, and he is really struggling to make an impact when the likes of Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison are forcing him to settle for a place on the bench.

Everton’s lack of squad depth means that one injury could give Danjuma his big chance though, and previous performances suggest he will be very capable of taking it with both hands and doing his best to keep his place in the team afterwards.

Danjuma’s start against Sheffield United saw him score his only league goal for the club, as well as making one key pass, have five shots and win four of his five attempted ground duels.
