Everton fell short against Wolves in the Premier League on Wednesday night – with one incident dominating all the talk since the game.

The Toffees missed a golden chance to respond to the defeat to Brentford, and could only draw 1-1 with the Premier League’s bottom side.

What on earth is the referee thinking here? 😡

Everton did take the lead through Michael Keane.

But a poor second-half display allowed Wolves to come back into the contest, with Mateus Mane scoring an equaliser.

Then came the game’s big controversy.

Keane was adjudged to have pulled the hair of Tolu Arokodare, with VAR Chris Kavanagh sending referee Thomas Kirk to the pitchside monitor.

Keane was sent off, leaving David Moyes furious. Fans have also slammed the decision.

Some have wondered if Everton will look to get the red card given to Keane rescinded.

For a lot of people, Keane’s action did not constitute violent conduct – and it seems the club see it that way too.

Harry Watkinson, the Everton correspondent for TEAMtalk, has reported this evening that Everton have appealed the decision, and are currently awaiting a response.

BREAKING: Everton have submitted an appeal to the FA to get Michael Keane’s red card rescinded! 🚨

Paul Joyce of The Times has also reported the same information.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the appeal will be, but many Evertonians won’t hold their breath.

Should Keane remain banned, then there is a chance that we could see Jake O’Brien move inside to partner James Tarkowski.

This could potentially lead to an unlikely start for Nathan Patterson at right-back.
