A round-up of the latest Everton news with 777 Partners’ takeover bid facing ‘a few problems’ and Martin Keown predicts the Blues’ match away to Nottingham Forest.

777 Partners face ‘a few problems’ in their Everton takeover bid

Prospective Everton owners 777 Partners are facing ‘problems’ in their bid to buy the shares controlled by Farhad Moshiri. That is according to Ben Jacobs, who claims that the American investment company are still struggling to get their deal to buy the Blues over the finish line.

777 Partners are keen to become the new owners of Everton, despite the Toffees receiving a 10-point deduction. But the penalty for flouting the Premier League’s financial sustainability rules has created further issues. Everton are still waiting to know if they face legal disputes.

Burnley, Leeds United and Leicester City are still mulling their options and the verdict of any proceedings could jeopardise 777 Partners’ takeover of Everton. A negative verdict may put the Blues’ finances under significant strain and stretch their need for large-scale investment.

Martin Keown makes an ‘inspired’ prediction for Nottingham Forest vs Everton

Arsenal legend Martin Keown predicts Everton to ‘pinch something’ when Sean Dyche’s side visit Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The Toffees take on the Reds in the evening kick-off as they strive to climb closer to safety. The Blues are currently five points inside the drop zone.

Only Burnley are below Everton on goal difference following the Toffees’ 10-point deduction for breaking the Premier League’s FFP rules. But a win at the City Ground may go a long way for Dyche, with Nottingham Forest only nine points better off than Everton across 13 games.

Nottingham Forest held Everton to a 2-2 draw at the City Ground last term after drawing 1-1 at Goodison Park. But Keown believes the Blues can win on Saturday as it will be ‘easier’ for them away from home. The Reds have also drawn three of their six home fixtures this term.

“I think Everton might pinch something,” Keown told talkSPORT (01/12, 12:56). “I think they just might upset the applecart. There’s been too many draws from Forest’s point of view this season and Everton might find something more inspired.

“And away from home and all the noise about the 10 points, it just might be easier for them. They had a great performance earlier in the season against Brentford. I know there wasn’t too many before that but I see them getting a win now.”

AC Milan are interested in the transfer of Everton striker Beto

AC Milan are interested in signing Beto in January only four months after he made a transfer to Everton. That is according to Fanta Master, which reports that the Rossoneri could look to lure the striker back to Serie A as San Siro chiefs strive to secure a deputy for Olivier Giroud.

Beto has not hit the ground running since arriving in the Premier League from Udinese this August for £26m. The 25-year-old has scored once through 11 games for Everton but is yet to score in the top-flight. He has also only started in three of his eight league appearances.

So, AC Milan are vigilant to the possibility of Everton cutting their losses and selling Beto in the January window. The Rossoneri followed him closely while the Portuguese was at their Serie A rival. Although San Siro chiefs will likely suggest an initial loan transfer if they move.
