Everton manager David Moyes has made it no secret they he will be looking to sign players from the Championship.

Speaking back in January, David Moyes explained that the second tier is home to so many talented players and that should be a place Everton shop in, going forward.

“We continue to look closer to home, which is the Championship,” the Scotsman explained, via the Sunderland Echo.

“Last year, the Championship produced some incredible players like (Morgan) Rogers, (Adam) Wharton, (Jaden) Philogene possibly. The Championship is always a place we should be looking to see.”

With that said, Everton are targeting West Bromwich Albion’s Tom Fellows as they look to add a wide player to their squad.

Fellows has actually been compared to former England international Chris Waddle and a deal could be accelerated imminently.

Everton target Tom Fellows compared to Chris Waddle

It was reported that Everton would accelerate a deal to sign Fellows once the under-21 European Championships have ended.

Now that we’re almost three weeks removed from the tournament, perhaps a Fellows deal is imminent, if indeed it’s been worked on behind the scenes.

His potential arrival would certainly add a unique profile to Everton’s forward line, as Andy Hinchcliffe explains why he feels he’s similar to Chris Waddle.

Speaking on the Essential EFL Podcast, Hinchcliffe said: “He reminds me a lot of when I played against Chris Waddle, bit of a name drop there.

“He wasn’t the same type of player because Chris Waddle used to kind of come in field, play on the right but was left-footed.

“But you kind of knew what Chris was going to do, you kind of know what Tom is going to do, but you can’t stop it.“

Tom Fellows stats 2024/25

Fellows enjoyed a stellar campaign for Albion and was actually the joint-top assist maker in the Championship.

The 21-year-old registered a whopping 18 goal contributions, such is why he is being watched by a plethora of Premier League clubs.

Brighton and Hove Albion and Leeds United are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation at the Hawthorns, so Everton may face competition for his signature.

Fellows almost joined Everton in January with a £10m transfer in place, but that ultimately broke down on deadline day.
