Everton are still actively exploring deals leading up to the transfer deadline tonight.

The window slams shut at 11pm and David Moyes is still hopeful of landing an attacker to bolster his ranks.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Dwight McNeil all sidelined for a lengthy period of time, the need for another forward is apparent.

Everton have considered Timothy Weah from Juventus but that deal is yet to progress and Fulham are providing stiff competition.

Rangers’ Hamza Igamane has been linked to Goodison Park, too, but the finances required to complete that deal are too costly.

But now, Everton have finally had a major breakthrough as a £10m deal has been agreed for a long-term target.

Everton agree £10m deal to sign Tom Fellows

According to Alan Nixon, Everton have agreed a £10m deal to sign West Bromwich Albion winger Tom Fellows.

Fellows has been granted permission to travel to Finch Farm to complete a medical but there are still obstacles to overcome.

The 21-year-old is yet to agree personal terms and with the window shutting in a matter of hours, it seems like one that’ll go right to the death.

The Toffees are in a race against time to land their long-term target, who has registered 12 goal involvements in the Championship this season.

Moyes gets his Championship wish

Since returning to Everton for a second spell, Moyes has been desperate for the club to recruit in the Championship as he believes it is home to a number of future Premier League stars.

“I know we’re in a world where we can pick players from any continent to play in the Premier League,” Moyes explained.

“A long time ago, it wasn’t as easy and maybe people didn’t look as far. We continue to look closer to home, which is the Championship. Last year, the Championship produced some incredible players like (Morgan) Rogers, (Adam) Wharton, (Jaden) Philogene possibly.

“The Championship is always a place we should be looking to see. With the position we’re in, we could do with a couple of seasoned players but if not, we need to get players in to help with the numbers etc.”

Now, it looks like Moyes is set to get his wish, with Fellows looking likely to complete a late switch to Everton.
