Everton have made a number of transfer blunders in recent years, particularly during Farhad Moshiri’s reign in charge.
Everton have allowed a number of players to leave the club who have since gone on to reach new heights elsewhere.
The decision to allow Antonee Robinson to leave Goodison Park looks like a bad one and even Alex Iwobi is proving his doubters wrong.
The Toffees have also missed out on a number of their top targets which they’re now rueing badly, with Alexander Isak a notable example.
Further to that, one of their targets from 2020 is now one of the most expensive defenders on the planet.

Everton tried to sign Wesley Fofana in 2020
According to But Football Club, Everton were one of the clubs leading the race to sign then Saint Etienne teenager Wesley Fofana in 2020.
The Toffees tried to sign him in January and the summer window but ultimately lost out to Champions League-chasing Leicester City.
The Foxes outlaid £36.5m on his signature and he went on to establish himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League.
Two years after joining, Fofana made a mega-money switch to Chelsea worth £75m, though, the transfer hasn’t really gone to plan.
Everton better off without Fofana
Unfortunately, Fofana’s development has been plagued by injuries as he’s made just 32 appearances across two and a half years at Stamford Bridge.
So, whilst he’s clearly a talented player, perhaps Everton are better off without him, especially since Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowksi have formed such a good partnership.
Fofana is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and Enzo Maresca initially expected him to be out for the season, however, he’s made good progress in recent weeks.
