Everton’s transfer business seems muddled at the moment, given Kevin Thelwell has a few uncertainties to contend with.
After all, both he and Sean Dyche’s contracts with the club are up in the summer, making it hard to work to a long-term plan, whilst there is still ambiguity on the dates surrounding the completed takeover too.
Alan Myers has predicted when Dan Friedkin will take control at Everton, but at this stage, it is mostly guesswork.
It’s frustrating because there is so much to be done at Goodison Park, with January potentially providing the perfect place to start.
Well, regardless of these uncertainties, Thelwell remains in for one long-term target.
Everton interested in West Brom talent Tom Fellow
Everton’s interest in Tom Fellows is well-documented and longstanding, having sought to snag him last January, and then again in the summer.
The West Bromwich Albion talent was a relative unknown when their efforts to sign him first emerged, but since then the 21-year-old has grown into a regular at the Hawthorns under Carlos Corberan.

Ironically, enough, Everton have been linked with Carlos Corberan in recent years for their manager job.
The latest on this Fellows interest comes courtesy of journalist Alan Nixon, who wrote on his Patreon: ‘Everton are checking on West Brom’s young winger Tom Fellows as the Toffees wait for a cash injection.
‘The Toffees sent a delegation to look at England under-21 cap Fellows who is one of the best players coming through in the Championship.
‘Fellows may be ready for the big step up to the Premier and Everton are in the market for fresh legs in their attack.’
How good is Everton target Tom Fellows?
Having spent his entire career with the Baggies thus far, coming up through their academy, already Fellows is well-respected across the West Midlands.
And, given how his form has spiked since last January, there’s hope that he might be able to translate his form from the EFL Championship into the Premier League.
Last season, in the former competition, he enjoyed a rich vein of form where he recorded six goal contributions across just nine games as he finally got a run of first-team appearances.
Even with his goalscoring having dissipated in the new season, five assists across just ten starts marks another fine return for someone so young.

One West Brom expert dropped his verdict on Tom Fellows back in January, and since then, the youngster has only gone from strength to strength.
In fact, Carlton Palmer had further good words to say about him as recently as September: ‘He had his breakthrough into the first-team in the last 12 months, and he is an exciting player who is potentially going to have a fantastic future and is going to go up in valuation.’
Regardless of whether Dyche is Everton manager or not, Fellows should thrive in any system, young enough still to be moulded in any direction.
