Everton have made a pretty poor start to the new Premier League season.
Everton are currently languishing in 16th place after their embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Southampton on the weekend.

Sean Dyche’s side have won just two of their opening 10 games this season and look set to be involved in a relegation dogfight.
There’s evidently a need for reinforcements this January transfer window and Sunderland’s Chris Rigg has been linked to Goodison Park.
That move seems unlikely considering Manchester United and Liverpool are also showing an interest in the 17-year-old but it’s just emerged that Everton are now keeping close tabs on a wonderkid in Spain.

Everton seriously interested in Stanis Idumbo
According to CaughtOffside, Everton are showing a strong interest in Sevilla teenager Stanis Idumbo ahead of the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old ‘wonderkid’, who joined from Ajax’s academy earlier this year, is enjoying a terrific breakout season in LaLiga and clubs around the continent are starting to take note.
Everton, Aston Villa and Brighton scouts have watched his games in recent weeks and have been really impressed with his performances against the likes of Barcelona.
Idumbo netted Sevilla’s only goal against the Catalan giants last month after coming on for the last 20 minutes.
The report further notes that Benfica and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on the Belgian youth international but Sevilla are desperate to retain his services and would only consider substantial bids.
Idumbo’s statistics compared to Iliman Ndiaye
If Everton were to sign Idumbo this winter, he’d likely be competing against Iliman Ndiaye for a spot in Dyche’s starting line-up.
Here is how his statistics compare to the current Everton playmaker.
| Stat (this season) | Stanis Idumbo | Iliman Ndiaye |
| Appearances | 5 | 12 |
| Goals | 1 | 3 |
| Assists | 0 | 0 |
Idumbo has played just 91 minutes of league football this season, so evidently he’s still very inexperienced.
But, the talent is clearly there so perhaps he could rotate in and out of the side with Ndiaye.
