Everton picked up yet another win on the road yesterday, as they beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James’ Park.

David Moyes’ side recorded their seventh away win of the season on Tyneside, lifting them on to 40 points.

Everton are well in the mix for European football, with just three points separating them from a Conference League spot.

If the Premier League table was based purely on away form, the Toffees would actually be in a title race along with Manchester City and Arsenal.

As seen below, they reside joint second with Pep Guardiola’s side, which is pretty remarkable.

Where Everton rank in the Premier League home table

Compare that to the Premier League home table and it’s easy to see why Everton have been so inconsistent.

The Toffees are 14th and have won just four games all season at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Remarkably, they’ve only won one more game than many of the teams fighting relegation, so that must be addressed.

If they can pick up a few more points on Merseyside, then they’ll be very well-placed to qualify for Europe this term.

What did you make of this man against Newcastle? 👏

He simply MUST keep his spot in the XI to face Burnley! 🔥

Beto celebrates his goal for Everton in the away victory against Newcastle United.

Jarrad Branthwaite, speaking after the Newcastle win, reiterated that Europe is the goal: “At the start of the season that was the main objective. To push for Europe.

“The lads have done a brilliant job during the season. We have just got to get as many points as we can and see where that takes us.”
