Everton could be set to be handed an injury boost ahead of their trip down to Southampton on the weekend.

Sean Dyche’s side are now sitting five points ahead of the bottom three following their draw last weekend against Fulham.

Everton could still be without a number of players on the weekend with Dwight McNeil an injury doubt for the trip to Southampton.

But McNeil was not the only Everton player to come out of the game against Fulham last weekend with an injury concern.

The Toffees took the grass one final time before they make the trip south with a glimpse into who could potentially be available for selection.

Abdoulaye Doucoure spotted in Everton training after injury worry

According to The Athletic on Thursday, midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure was an injury doubt for the game on the weekend.

However, on Friday, the Mali international was spotted during the Everton training session which took place at Goodison Park.

The club shared an image of the group in a huddle with Dyche leading the team talk in the middle.

On the left of the image, Doucoure can be seen stood next to Beto with further images of the midfielder uploaded on the club’s website.

Doucoure is outperforming most of Europe in tackles made

Playing in an Everton side which has lingered around the foot end of the table for the last couple of years, Doucoure has certainly been a busy man.

The £20m Doucoure has been much improved under Dyche this season and has been able to start seven games in the league so far.

But over the last 365 days, the Mali international has outperformed most of Europe’s midfielders as he ranks in the 99th percentile for tackles made.

Given his defensive returns in an Everton shirt, his presence in Friday’s training will come as a huge boost for the Toffees ahead of the trip south.
