Everton’s draw against Arsenal on the weekend looks even more impressive after their emphatic win over Real Madrid.

David Moyes has been able to pull the Toffees out of the sticky situation they found themselves in under Sean Dyche.

It has been quite the turnaround for Everton who have now pulled themselves clear of the bottom three.

Mikel Arteta name-checked Everton after their Real Madrid victory as the Toffees were full value for their point on the weekend.

The Gunners sealed the win over the European giants after a stunning display from Declan Rice.

After netting two staggeringly good free-kicks, Everton have taken to social media to share their reaction.

Everton react to Declan Rice’s free-kicks for Arsenal vs Real Madrid

Arsenal hinted at playing Rice as a defender against Everton, but it is in midfield where the England international really shines.

Everton were able to compete on Saturday at Goodison Park as they earned their point with a much-improved second half display.

Rice scored two free-kicks against Madrid, but Everton were keen to remind everyone that it has been done before.

‘Two free kicks in one game? Been there, done that,’ they posted on X with two clips of Leighton Baines netting against West Ham.

Back in 2013, Baines scored two stunning free-kicks against the Hammers at Upton Park.

It will remain up for debate as to whether Rice done it better than the no Everton coach, but both certainly deserve the praise they received.

Baines has really impressed Jake O’Brien with the work he has been putting in behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

Now a number of years on from his retirement, the club have been keen to remind football fans of just how good the left-back was.

Everton should learn from Declan Rice scored two free kicks

Everton certainly did well to come away from Saturday’s game with a point against a side clearly capable of beating Europe’s best.

Following Charlie Adam’s appointment earlier in the year, Everton fans have criticised their set pieces of late.

One thing which is clear, though, is the Toffees done well to avoid being on the receiving end of one of those Rice free kicks.

Moyes has even slammed Everton’s set pieces with a lot of work needing to be done over the summer to improve in that area.
