Everton return to action on Tuesday evening as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.

David Moyes’ side will be keen to put right the defeat against Merseyside rivals Liverpool at the weekend.

Everton have the chance to advance to the fourth round of the competition at Molineux, with many of their summer signings expected to start.

Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou and Merlin Rohl could all get the nod from the off, although, the latter is carrying a knock.

Ahead of the clash, we’ve decided to take a look at the head-to-head record against Wolves.

Everton vs Wolves record

Everton and Wolves have played each other 145 times, with their first clash coming back in January 1889.

Wolves actually won that game 5-0 and finished the season in third place, with Aston Villa in second and Preston North End winning the league.

The Toffees have won 65 games in total against the West Midlanders, so they historically have a good record.

Games won:65
Games drawn:29
Games lost:51

In recent history, Everton have been dominant, winning two of the last three, with a 1-1 draw sandwiched in between.

Everton will be the heavy favourites

Despite being the away side, Everton will be the strong favourites on Tuesday, with Wolves really struggling in the Premier League this term.

Vitor Pereira’s men were well beaten by Leeds United on Saturday as they shipped three goals at Molineux.

Everton have already beaten them once this season, so they’ll be confident of doing the double over what appears to be a side low in confidence and fragile at the back.

Players like Dibling and Thierno Barry will be hungry to get their first goal in an Everton shirt, having mainly been substitutes so far.
