Everton returned to winning ways against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening, securing a 2-0 victory at the City Ground.
It was a brilliant away performance from Everton as they had to really dig in at times, whilst also showing their quality going forward.
James Garner and Thierno Barry were the goalscorers, and the latter has now scored in both fixtures this season.
What did you make of James Garner’s performance? 😳
Garner stole the headlines with another Man of the Match display, but credit should also go to another Toffees star who was a real unsung hero.

Tim Iroegbunam was an unsung Everton hero vs Nottingham Forest
Tim Iroegbunam has been filling in in the absence of Idrissa Gana Gueye, who is away with Senegal at AFCON.
Iroegbunam has had his ups and downs with the Toffees, but he’s really started to come into his own in recent weeks.
David Moyes singled out Iroegbunam after the Arsenal defeat earlier this month, noting that he was outstanding against Declan Rice.
Tim was outstanding again 🔥
Does he keep Gueye out the team if he continues this form?
The former Aston Villa midfielder put in another top display tonight, as evinced by his impressive Sofascore statistics.
Iroegbunam conducted his defensive duties exceptionally well, winning six ground duels and recovering possession four times.
- 40 touches
- 6 ground duels won
- 4 recoveries
- 2 interceptions
- 2 tackles
- 1 clearance
Tim Iroegbunam wants to keep Idrissa Gana Gueye out of the team
Speaking earlier this month, Iroegbunam said he wants to keep Gueye out of the team when he returns from AFCON.
“I always look up to Idrissa, but I’m hoping I can show what I can so that when he comes back, I’m giving the gaffer a reason to not put him straight back in,” the 22-year-old admitted.
That shows the kind of drive and hunger Iroegbunam has to do well on Merseyside, so Moyes will certainly be pleased with what he’s seeing at the moment.
Moyes has been critical of his ability on the ball in the past, but he seems to be really improving in that department, too.
It’s easy to forget Iroegbunam is a very young player who’s still learning his trade game by game, so there’s more room to get even better.
