Goodison Park send-off plans revealed
It’s set to be an incredibly emotional final few weeks of the season for Everton supporters, as they savour the last couple of games at Goodison.
The thought of Everton playing their games anywhere else is almost impossible to imagine, but that will soon become a reality next season.
Ahead of the Toffees’ penultimate game at Goodison against Ipswich Town, the Liverpool Echo have just revealed sensational plans.
It’s understood that the 1878s, who are a supporter group, are set to unveil a special display that will live forever in the memories of fans.
All four sides of Goodison will be turned blue, with dazzling tifos covering every inch of the 39,000-seater stadium.
The display will meet the players as they walk out to Z-cars in a scene that is sure to bring a tear to the eye for many.
1878 have decided to do it in the second last game so they can enjoy the final farewell in their own seats with their friends and family.

The penultimate game at Goodison will also see confetti launched into the air when the players emerge from the tunnel prior to kick-off.
Katie Carter, a member of the supporters group, urges fans to attend the game wearing blue to add to the occasion, which she hopes will create an iconic image that can be used for decades.
“We will be living at Goodison this week. As a group, what we want to do is to make an iconic image that will live forever.
“There are so many memorable images of Goodison from the last nine months but we want this to be the lasting one – the one that the 1878s’ work at the ground is remembered by.
“We are hoping to create the scene that goes on people’s walls, is kept as their screensaver – that the club always return to. We want to give her the best send off we can.”
1878s are planning to complete their display by Friday evening, just in time for the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
