Everton have one eye on the summer transfer window.

Following Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, the attention has very much shifted towards the summer transfer window as the season begins to peter out.

David Moyes’ side have now lost two on the bounce, with one win in nine games, so quite clearly, the squad needs strengthening.

Moyes already has his eye on Sunderland’s teenage midfielder Chris Rigg, who has been a standout performer in the Championship this season.

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is also emerging as an Everton target, with his contract set to expire at Old Trafford at the end of June.

Now, there has been a fresh development as Everton move one step closer to signing a Premier League star.

Everton move one step closer to signing Tomas Soucek

Everton have been showing a serious interest in West Ham’s Tomas Soucek ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tomas Soucek has warned Graham Potter that he will consider leaving for Merseyside if his game time doesn’t increase.

And now, according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon, Everton are close to signing Soucek as Moyes is really ‘pushing’ to get a deal done.

The Scotsman is now just waiting for the hierarchy to give the official go-ahead, so it seems this transfer is moving at speed.

Soucek netted his eighth goal of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Soucek has a great relationship with David Moyes

Moyes brought Soucek to the Premier League as he paid Slavia Prague £19m to land his signature for West Ham.

The pair had a great relationship in East London and speaking only last month, Soucek admitted he’d be happy to meet the Scotsman for a beer.

“We had a great trip together to West Ham; he brought me there and I thank him very much for that,” the West Ham star said.

“We have a good relationship, and I think that whenever we meet, we can easily go for a beer.”

So, with that said, it’s clear a reunion at Everton could well be on the cards, with the prospect of working together an attractive one for both parties.
