At the age of 37, there is now the possibility that Thursday night may well have been Coleman’s final appearance for his nation as he responded to the question after their defeat.

“No, right now – after the disappointment -I would never think of myself that quickly after the nation got so disappointed,” he said.
“That’s something that will come later down the line, but I am just disappointed for the lads and disappointed for all the fans.
“Yeah, that’s not something in my thoughts at this moment in time.”
