Everton are expected to be in a relegation dogfight come May as a number of their players just haven’t been up to par.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been really poor, netting just two league goals all season whilst his understudy Beto hasn’t been able to take his opportunities when they’ve arisen.
Defensively, Everton started off pretty shaky, with James Tarkowski and Michael Keane underperforming in the earlier stages of the campaign.
Jarrad Braithwaite’s return from injury has seen Keane drop to the bench and now the clean sheets are starting to gather.
Despite a challenging first half of the season, there have been some bright sparks and with that said, here are the top three performers up to now.

Everton’s three best players so far this season
3 – Idrissa Gueye
Idrissa Gueye’s longevity is truly remarkable as he continues to be one of the Premier League’s best ball winners aged 35.
The Senegal international recovers 4.8 balls per game, as per Sofascore, and has been pivotal to Everton’s upturn in form.
Gueye also averages just shy of an 86% pass completion rate, evincing his proficient ability on the ball, too.
| Stats per 90 | |
| Tackles | 3.91 |
| Blocks | 1.36 |
| Interceptions | 1.32 |
| Pass completion | 85.9 |
2 – Ashley Young
Ashley Young became Everton’s oldest-ever goalscorer earlier this month when he netted a sublime free-kick against Wolves.
The 39-year-old has filled in at right-back superbly well and has registered a commendable four goal involvements.
Dyche has hailed Young in recent weeks for his performances,
“I said the other week, his mentality has got him to where he is in life and in football – and that’s an incredible achievement,” Dyche told Everton TV.
“He trains virtually every single day. Very rarely is he out of training; very rarely is he not accepting of what I ask of him, and I thought he was terrific today.”
1 – Iliman Ndiaye
After arriving from Marseille in the summer, it quickly became apparent that Iliman Ndiaye was a special talent.
The Senegalese playmaker has been Everton’s only creative outlet on numerous occasions this term, despite being forced out wide.
Rival fans have been impressed by Ndiaye all season and it wouldn’t at all be surprising if he starts to be linked with a move away.
Everton fans will be hopeful he can play a major part in the Friedkin Group revolution.
