With Everton looking more prepared for their opener against Leeds United, Douglas Luiz is someone who could be added to the squad further down the line.
After Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival, it would’ve seemed that Luiz wouldn’t join the Toffees this summer.
But with Harrison Armstrong being loaned out, Luiz could replace Armstrong, as David Moyes still needs more options in the midfield.
Everton have gone quiet on Luiz’s interest, but the Brazilian still remains on the market this summer.
Now, what’s coming out about Juventus bodes well for a possible move, as Fabrizio Romano has delivered the down-low for Everton fans.

Juventus can only sign midfielder once Everton target Douglas Luiz leaves
The signing of the former Aston Villa star would reflect nicely on what the Toffees’ squad looks like.
Dewsbury-Hall is already a great addition, but by adding the Brazilian, Moyes has several strong options in the middle of the park.
With Moyes trying to sign Luiz, the 27-year-old’s future has now become clearer, as Juventus want to sign Brighton player Matt O’Riley, according to Fabrizio Romano, but can only do so if Luiz leaves.
With Juventus’ manager now potentially keeping Luiz, he’ll know that if the Italian side want O’Riley, then a sale must happen, but the Toffees also have a decision to make, and it’s not just signing the Brazilian.
Everton will have to sacrifice Matt O’Riley for Douglas Luiz
Luiz is obviously an appealing option, and his Premier League experience will come in handy.
However, Everton have previously shown interest in O’Riley himself, as the Toffees might see the opportunity to now go for the Dane after Juve’s new interest.
Although Everton’s interest in O’Riley was shut down, there is a chance here to potentially reconsider their pursuit of Luiz.
But it’s quite clear that the Brighton midfielder will have to be the one sacrificed in terms of targets, as Luiz’s sale looks imminent, and the Italian side are looking to move quickly with O’Riley.
