During Carlo Ancelotti’s reign at Everton, his son Davide was his assistant manager.

Davide Ancelotti was held in really high regard around Finch Farm and often took the Everton training sessions whilst his father watched on.

The 36-year-old was then part of major success at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League in 2022 and 2024.

Davide is now with Carlo at the Brazil national team ahead of the World Cup in America this summer.

But, he’s already got his next job lined up after the tournament, evincing how highly rated the former Toffees coach is.

Former Everton assistant Davide Ancelotti appointed Lille manager

Davide had a short spell as Botafogo manager last year, which came shortly after almost joining Rangers.

Now, the young coach is ready to go back into management as he’s pre-agreed a deal to become the new Lille boss.

In a statement on X, Lille wrote: “Davide Ancelotti is the new manager of LOSC.

“LOSC announces today the appointment of Davide Ancelotti as manager of the first team. The Italian technician, who has worked with the world’s greatest clubs and national teams, has signed for a duration of 2 years.”

It’s a huge step for Davide, as Lille finished third in Ligue 1 last term, thus qualifying for the Champions League.

He’ll be afforded the opportunity to work with Ayyoub Bouaddi, an 18-year-old wonderkid linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Davide will also work closely with another talented youngster in Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who registered 15 goal involvements as a 20 and 21-year-old last term.

Clearly, the French club believe Davide can develop some of the club’s best talent, as he was crucial in taking the likes of Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham to the next level at Real.

Perhaps if Ancelotti does well over in France, he could go on to become Everton manager one day, having enjoyed a good spell on Merseyside.
