Everton have had eight permanent managers over the last decade, with Farhad Moshiri often chopping and changing.
For years, Everton have been a turbulent club mismanaged from the top, but the Friedkin Group have brought stability since joining in December 2024.
The American investors brought back David Moyes at the start of 2025, and he’s completely changed the fortunes.
Moyes is desperate to return to Europe this season, and his side are pretty well-placed to achieve that feat.
So, it seems like the Scotsman will be in post for a lot longer than some of his predecessors, although one of them is now being tipped to join Chelsea.

Former Everton manager Marco Silva tipped to join Chelsea
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is not guaranteed to be in charge of their game against Manchester City on Sunday.
It’s understood that Maresca is considering resigning after a breakdown in relationship with the club’s hierarchy.
Chelsea fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, suggesting former Toffees boss Marco Silva as the ideal candidate to replace him.
“Marco Silva is the only name I’m willing to listen to,” @screwsyapsesh posted.
@Carefree_Jon explained: “I’d take Marco Silva; good PL experience, favours 4-2-3-1, him & staff live close enough so not a big disruption for them, 1 year left on his contract so possibly a measly compensation fee is all that’s needed.”
“Marco Silva you are Chels,” @billahibarkley commented.
“I’d take Marco Silva,” @RichardB644808 noted.
“Better than Maresca,” @life_of_jose simply said.
@CFCHusein reckons Silva has a good chance of getting the job: “It might be Marco Silva out of contract and he’s across the road.”
Marco Silva is out of contract at the end of the season
Silva’s contract at Fulham actually expires at the end of the season, so it’d make more sense from Chelsea’s financial perspective to wait until then.
But, that seems unlikely, as Todd Boehly won’t want to appoint an interim manager whilst there is still so much to play for.
The West Londoners could still advance in the Champions League, and they are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table.
It has previously been reported that Silva has a colossal release clause believed to be around £8m, so that could be a stumbling block.
Jamie Carragher reckons Silva could end up at Tottenham Hotspur, whilst he has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the past.
