Everton have produced a lot of talented players from their Finch Farm academy in recent years, but many of them are flourishing elsewhere.
Thierry Small is having a sensational season at Preston North End and has even been linked with a return to Everton.
Lewis Dobbin is also doing well at Preston and finally looks like he’s reaching his true potential, on loan from Aston Villa.
Isaac Price is smashing it at West Bromwich Albion, and he’s also being mooted for a return to the Premier League.
Now, another former Toffees attacker is grabbing all the headlines in the Championship after his stunning goal last night.

Coventry City fans in awe of former Everton star Ellis Simms
Ellis Simms came through the ranks at Everton and made 12 appearances for the senior team before being sold to Coventry City in 2023.
Coventry fans actually wanted Simms to be sold in the summer after a really poor season, but he’s now completely turned it around.
The former Toffees striker has scored six goals in four starts, including an absolute wonder goal against Middlesbrough last night.
That is absolutely genius from Ellis Simms!
Coventry fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to heap praise on the 24-year-old’s superb two-goal performance.
@Razwarwick posted: “That Ellis Simms goal is my goal of the season. The run by Torp was phenomenal, the finish sublime.”
@Ryan_Evans_x explained: “Ellis Simms, that is an utterly outstanding number 9 performance. Hold up play, brought others into the game, won every aerial challenge and scored two brilliant goals. I’m not his biggest fan, but he has dragged us through that. A massive 3 points!”
“Simms playing with confidence again, absolutely fantastic to see,” @RyanMAM1987 added.
@PUSB_PUSB commented: “This CF performance by Simms is absolutely unbelievable.”
“Simms has been phenomenal,” @AJWood_ said.
“Simms best game in a city shirt,” @EdwardMoore13 noted.
Ellis Simms could face Everton next season
Simms could well face his former club Everton in the Premier League next season, as Coventry are streaking clear at the top of the Championship.
Frank Lampard has completely revolutionised Coventry, as they’re now sitting 10 points clear of second-placed Stoke City.
Lampard’s side have only lost one in 17 league games, which is pretty remarkable. At the rate they’re going, they’d finish on 108 points – which would be a record total.
The former Everton manager has adjusted his philosophy since leaving the club, with his Coventry side one of the best attacking teams in the football league.
The Sky Blues have scored 47 goals, with Ipswich and Hull City the second top scorers on 28.
