Everton have been in limbo for years now, treading water as they have waited for a saviour.

After all, with all the financial turmoil that has embroiled them in recent years, there were valid fears about whether the club might even be able to continue operating. Things were that bad.

But, through careful planning and a new sustainable model, headlined by Kevin Thelwell’s intelligent business, they now sit in a far stabler position.

The Toffees are ready to walk into the Bramley-Moore Dock still standing despite all the horrors they have endured, with the expectation that it will provide that commercial and financial boost to turn them into contenders again.

However, there might even be more to come in that regard.

Graeme Bailey thinks Everton are already eyeing the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium expansion

After all, there have been questions over the decision-making regarding the capacity, which is set to be 52,888.

The architect of the arena has been particularly vocal on this topic, with Dan Meis arguing with The Esk about Bramley-Moore Dock’s capacity. The latter party suggested that it marked incompetence from the club to limit themselves, with the former arguing it was all done for a reason.

Well, speaking exclusively to Everton.News, journalist Graeme Bailey has now reacted to this news with his own views.

He claimed: ‘I think that it’s something that, once the Premier League confirm their takeover, I imagine that doing it early doors when they just get into the stadium would make sense.

‘I think once your Premier League status is confirmed I wouldn’t be that shocked. And, as you know, once that’s confirmed you can start selling the season tickets and stuff.

‘I imagine it’s been built to allow expansion easily, so I imagine it’s a pretty easy issue to remedy if you need to put more seats on. It wouldn’t surprise me. Once Premier League status is confirmed I imagine that might become a thing.’

What’s the latest on Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock stadium?

Everton released the next step for the Bramley-Moore Dock earlier this week, in what is our latest update on the progression of this arena.

It detailed the germination blanket that has been laid across what will soon be the pitch, promising a green pasture to finally make this remarkable construction look like a football stadium.

Aside from that, there are still likely plenty of smaller, less attractive jobs to be completed before the club can claim that it is fit for purpose.

They claimed that by the end of this calendar year it should be finalised, however realistically they have until the summer of 2025 to achieve full completion.

They still need to deal with a few external features around the roof and panelling of the stadium, as well as padding out the concourses with additional features.

But, it seems all is still very much on track, regardless of whether an extension is planned.
