Furious Everton fans single out ‘only’ shining light from 0-0 draw with Brentford

Everton fans have been singling one player out for praise after the Brentford draw.

The Toffees found a way to make things difficult for themselves against Brentford earlier on today, as the ten men managed to hold on and even had a couple of chances to win it themselves.

Everton have only lost one of their last eight matches, but that doesn’t tell the whole story as performances just haven’t been to a high enough standard.

Sean Dyche came out after the game and even acknowledged that they’ve got to improve, which is a huge step in the direction for him as he’s normally satisfied with performances like this.

It’s clear that the general consensus is still Dyche out at Everton despite the draw, and it’s hard to blame fans for being frustrated when the same things keep on happening.

However, there was one positive to take away from the game, as supporters singled out one player for some rare praise on social media.

Iliman Ndiaye’s performance in numbers against Brentford

Everton fans have been calling out for Ndiaye to operate in the ten position, and fans got their wish against Brentford, though it didn’t turn out how they imagined.

He found himself operating on the left, down the middle and even on the right, but that didn’t matter as he put in an impressive display.

However, he was less effective through the middle.

Ndiaye had 58 touches, made four key passes, had a passing accuracy percentage of 87, completed one cross and one long ball, completed all four of his dribbles, won six duels and was fouled once (SofaScore).

Everton fans react to Iliman Ndiaye’s performance against Brentford

Many Everton fans, when speaking on X, are impressed with what they saw from Ndiaye.

“We’re miserable; unfortunately, we’re the worst side in the league. Our only good player today was Ndiaye, again, absolutely carrying us,” @DaddyDyche1878 said.
