Gabby Agbonlahor has issued a strong response as an update has emerged on Beto leaving Everton in January.

David Moyes wants new players at Everton, but will also have to deal with potential outgoings and other clubs showing an interest in some of the first-team players.

Currently, the Toffees find themselves in 10th place and are looking for a few more players in order to finish in the European places at the end of the season.

Despite having an underwhelming Premier League season, scoring just once in 17 games, Beto still has interest from other top-flight clubs.

TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook reported that West Ham want to sign the 27-year-old in the January transfer window.

The Hammers are desperately looking to battle relegation as they are currently in 18th place and five points away from safety.

Beto faces an uncertain future at Everton, and a move in the coming weeks could be on the cards for him.

Thierno Barry is ahead of him in the pecking order and Everton are understood to be in the market for another striker in January.

Reacting to this from a West Ham perspective on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “Oh lord.”

How much can Everton demand for Beto?

The Toffees paid a staggering £25.75million to Udinese for the striker in 2023 and it seemed like big money at the time for a relatively unproven talent.

However, fans hoped that someone at the club was confident that the investment would pay off, but that has not been the case.

He has played 90 games for Everton, scoring 17 goals, an underwhelming return for someone who was expected to be leading the line regularly now for the Blues.

The Guinea-Bissau international’s contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium runs until 2027, which means that the Toffees have enough leverage to demand a relatively high fee.

They could also state the fact that he’s only 27 and may get better in the next few years.

However, expecting what they paid for him is unrealistic ahead of the January window and they would likely settle for a fee between £15million and £20million.
