Everton have flown out of the blocks in the Premier League so far this season with David Moyes at the helm.

The Toffees have made the perfect start as the new additions signed by The Friedkin Group are settling in nicely.

After Everton hadn’t won in August since 2021, two victories have seen the Blues rise to fifth in the top flight.

It’s exactly the start that Moyes needed, and with the likes of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shining, there is every chance of a thrilling season.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer certainly think this, as they’ve suggested something that could come true for Everton.

Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker both agree Everton will be ‘best’ of the rest this season

After the positive beginning to the 2025/26 campaign, Moyes has certainly turned the ship around from where the Blues were.

Sean Dyche developed a toxic atmosphere at Everton, and the 62-year-old has managed to revamp the squad and look like a side with the feel-good factor again.

Lineker and Shearer have talked about this on The Rest Is Football, and the former Newcastle United striker and Toffees forward both agreed on something exciting.

“They could be the best of the other bunch outside that top eight,” Shearer said.

“Totally agree,” Lineker responded.

It’s certainly a bold prediction, but it’s hard to argue after the Blues have started so excellently.

Everton have rediscovered their attacking factor, and finally, could they end a seven-year embarrassment?

David Moyes can end Everton’s six-season torment of finishing outside top eight

It’s been a difficult time to be an Evertonian in recent years, but it looks like the tides are changing.

Moyes wants to challenge for Europe, and that certainly looks like the ambitious aim, but fans will just be wanting a place in the top eight, which could gain Europe anyway.

But this is because of their recent Premier League record, as it’s not a good look, as their last top-eight finish came in the 2018/19 campaign.

Things are looking up, and with the Toffees’ squad, there is every chance this can happen.

Many pundits have backed Moyes’ side, as Wayne Rooney also sees Everton getting Europe, and so far, everything is going to plan.
