Everton fans are hoping to see some new faces come in – and fans on social media are getting excited over one link in particular.
So far this summer, the activity has mainly revolved around players leaving the club.
The likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia and Ashley Young have all left on free transfers.
And loan players Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom, Armando Broja and Jack Harrison have returned to their parent clubs.
Everton have confirmed they are signing Carlos Alcaraz permanently following his successful loan spell.
But fans now want to see some fresh faces, and one player Everton are tracking at the moment is James McAtee.
McAtee won’t be in Manchester City’s Club World Cup squad, fuelling speculation he will leave this summer.
Everton are in the frame to sign him – and fans have been reacting on social media.
Everton fans urge David Moyes to land James McAtee from Man City

McAtee was promoted to Man City’s first-team squad ahead of the 2024/25, after spending time on loan at Sheffield United.
He perhaps didn’t kick on as people hoped though, and found starts hard to come by.
He is now likely to leave, and inevitably, interest in the talented City youngster is high.
Everton fans have been talking about McAtee online in recent days, and it’s clear this would be a pretty popular signing.

@Jablett1 added: “Should be absolutely all over this.”
Everton signing McAtee would be a statement of intent

This will be an interesting one to watch, because McAtee is very much in demand at the moment.
But Everton should be throwing their hat into the ring, with McAtee a player with a very high ceiling.

| Goals – 7 |
| Assists – 0 |
The great Kevin De Bruyne has said McAtee has ‘really good quality’, and Everton would probably be foolish to ignore the Belgian if there is any chance of landing McAtee.
Ultimately Everton were not good enough in and around the final third at times in 2024/25 and McAtee is the kind of player who can pick the trickiest of locks.
