Harrison Armstrong drops cool three-word message after hat-trick of goals and assists for Everton U18s

Everton appear to have a gem on their hands in the form of young Harrison Armstrong, who made headlines last night with his exploits for the U18s.

Young players at Everton have been in favour at Goodison Park in recent times.

We have seen Roman Dixon and Harrison Armstrong both make their Premier League debuts in 2023/24, while George Pickford and Isaac Heath have also been given a few opportunities.

It could well be that Armstrong in particular is in line for more chances in the coming weeks and months.

Last night, Armstrong made six goal contributions for the Everton U18s against Nottingham Forest in the form of three goals and three assists.

And following his superb feat, he sent a message on social media.

Everton cruised to a 7-0 win over Nottingham Forest last night to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with an impressive 7-0 victory.

It was a great 40th birthday present for manager Leighton Baines – and young Armstrong stole the show with a hat-trick of goals, and a hat-trick of assists.

The youngster was delighted after the win, and took to social media to send a message to mark the occasion.

He wrote on his Instagram Story: “3 goals 3 assists. Good night’s work.”

That is certainly an understated response from the humble youngster considering he just made six goal contributions in a game. Realistically, there aren’t many midfielder players who can say they’ve done that in one game.

More chances could be in the offing for Armstrong

If Armstrong wasn’t on the radar of Everton fans before, he surely will be now following this magnificent performance against Forest.

We’ve seen how Everton have struggled in the final third and how goalscoring has been a problem.

Armstrong appears to be an exciting young talent capable of making things happen in the final third. He had typically operated in the middle of midfield, but has been more advanced lately and that slight alteration to his role appears to have suited him.

He’s been allowed to dip his toe into the Premier League with two appearances so far, and it now may be in Sean Dyche’s interests to start getting Armstrong a bit more involved.
